Blurbs on a few shows I’ve watched the first episode of, but do not intend to blog… and, no, the picture doesn’t relate.
So, not related, but I’m listening to a song called The Last Sasketchewan Pirate. Laugh riot.
ef~a tale of melodies~
I never watch ef~a tale of memories~ because that season I opted to follow Myself; Yourself and Clannad instead… and I figured watching three visual novel adaptations would be too much. Since then, even though the visuals looked impressive, I’ve avoided the first ef because it has a crazy girl, and I find those to be terribly, terribly annoying. Anyway, I decided to give melodies a try because of the artistry of the first season and because I saw no signs of crazy girl.
I don’t know what to make of this yet – my main reason for not doing a full post is that the first half of the episode was too confusing to really do so cohesively. I don’t know if maybe I would’ve been less confused had I seen the first season… although I suspect it wouldn’t've helped at all. Anyway, the art is top-notch, and the animation was pretty damn impressive – this looked more like something on a movie budget than a TV budget to me, although it remains to be seen if they can sustain that level of quality.
Kurogane no Linebarrel
Admission: the only reason I watched this was because it has ‘linebarrel’ in the title, and I like that word.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure my brain rotted and dripped out of my ear during this. The best part was when I saw a woman who looked a lot like onna-Maze from Maze~The Megaburst of Space~.
I’d like to know why all the legally available free anime to watch have been crappy shows. I was kind of excited to be legally consuming this, and then it just was awful like Blassreiter and Druaga-whatnot were. Too bad.
Akane-iro ni Somaru Sake
Ok, not going to lie, I heard there was sibcon in this, so… yeah… Also, the character designs made me think of Myself; Yourself, which was awesome for all the wrong reasons, so, yeah, there’re my reasons.
Unfortunately, it was a total snore-fest. I’m not a harem fan; when I watch harems, it is because it is from the Tenchi-verse, brought to us by the (un?)holy union of KyoAni and Key, or it looks like an awesome, awesome trainwreck (note: does not apply to H2O~Footprints in the Sand~…). This obviously is neither of the two former, and sadly looks like it’ll avoid the latter. Oh well.

Oh, my, I agree with you, Linebarrels was just so, uh, uninteresting, to say something! About ef-melodies, I remember stopping watching the first season towards the end because of all the angst and, yeah, that crazy girl…
Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka looks interesting, though. But maybe that’s because I like silly comedies, ^_^
By the way have you watched Kuoshitsuji? It’s the most strange anime I’ve seen so far this season, with an odd mixture of comedy and terror.

Day, you are my hero for the day for calling out how crazy Miyako is. I FREAKING HATE that crazy ass bitch and cannot stress it enough. MIYAKO. MUST. DIE.
Akane Iro is generic as hell but I like harem stuff, so it wound up on my watchlist.
