Rinne Rondo PV and Commentary

Click ‘play’ for extra lulz and white combat boots… and the KKK?

WARNING: This post isn’t politically correct.

Guess who’s in an ass-hat mood today?

I think the last PV that I saw that made me laugh this much as Takashi Fujii’s Oh My Juliet PV (although, sadly, the Rinne Rondo PV does not have any sweet shiny gold jackets, random body-building homeroom teachers, or nearly as many random Westerners running around in it) (or, for that matter, awesome MS Paint moments).

Anyway, I think the only thing about this PV that actually is decent is the random woman in a veil playing a violin… especially since there’s no violin in the song 90% of the time she shows up in the PV. I also was amused by the fact that the veiled woman turned out to be some Caucasian chick – seriously, do they import these Westerners you always just randomly see wandering around in PV’s? Is there somewhere I can sign up? getting paid 10,000 yen to pretend I can dance or play an instrument sounds like a pretty good deal to me… I mean, hey, who cares about starvation when, one day, the U.S. government finally re-importsBut your ass over back-taxes, and as you sit in your cold cell, you can merrily tell your cell-mate that you were in a music video once… in Japan.

But, anyway, back to the PV itself – you got to love the mad dance moves of the guys of ON/OFF. Wikipedia refuses to tell me their names, so from now on I’ll refer to the one on the left as ‘ON’ and the one on the right as ‘OFF’… this would be relevant if they didn’t just do exactly the same things as each other. But these guys really know how to get down in style while standing in three inches of water in front of a disembodied door (yes, disembodied – does that door appear to be held up by a wall or even a frame? no – my point is proven).

Now how about their attire? Well, I think its just fine for standing in front of a disembodied door and in three inches of water to sing and dance. Upon closer inspection, you’ll see that they appear to be wearing white combat boots… since white combat boots are very practical, after all! They then don Klan raincoats… actually, the KKK just called, and they’d like to know where they can get raincoats like that, as their own robes don’t do a good job of keeping out the rain on stormy nights. Also, they would like to remind you to keep your slant-eyed selves* out of America and to keep that godless, un-Amurrican anniemay shit out of Amurrica! Or they’ll burn a cross on your front lawn. Because everyone knows that anniemay helps the turrirists!

However, although the PV is awful, I actually do like the song itself – Vampire Knight might be a raging piece of crap (that I nevertheless giddily watch every week – it occurs to me that ‘normal’ girls watch stuff like Gossip Girl or Desperate Housewives whilst I fill the melodrama void with VK), but I’ve been fairly pleased with its musical record. The first season’s OP was a bit lackluster, but this one is much, much better. Kanon Wakeshima’s ED music still wins overall, though – but ON/OFF can’t get too pissy about that, since Wakeshima’s ED music pretty much owns most ED music out there… dude, hard to beat a lady who can sing AND has played the cello since she was three years old.

* – I hope you’re all capable of understanding that I would never actually use such horrible language in real-life and that I’m just imitating the KKK and Christian Identity folks.
