Kore ha Zombie desu ka? at a Glance

First there was dat ass. Then there was dat hipshake. And now? DAT BULGE. Actually, ‘dat bulge’ may’ve started on /cm on one of the Shiki threads. Someone, uh, enhanced a certain part of Tatsumi’s anatomy in that boy band jumpsuit-thing he was wearing during episode twenty. But I can’t remember exactly if someone did utter that or not. I do know that Tatsumi pictures when posted often elicited the response ‘DAT ASS’.

Ahem. Anyway.

I stuck to using ‘ha’ instead of ‘wa’ since the romaji used by the show itself used ‘ha’. So… DEAL WITH IT, FUCKERS.

…ok, sorry. I’m going to attempt to be not a total asshat with this post. I just got done with a ten hour shift, so I’m a bit out of it. I also managed to accidentally sexually harass a co-worker. How does that even happen? Well, I was just using my usual banter-style, and then I realized after the fact that if someone were suggesting that a dead man was going to slip into my bed and use his cold, dead hands on me in a carnal fashion, I’d probably feel ultra-creeped out. Which… was the point of me saying it. Except now I’m in the workplace! I can’t just be saying shit like that to folks, or HR’s gonna ream my poor ass! So I apologized…. *kicks self*

Anyway, where was I? Oh. Kore ha Zombie desu ka?.

Hmm. Well. KoreZom is an intermittently funny show, and definitely an improvement on what it should’ve been – which is to say, this think reeked of its eroge roots. However, if this had aired last summer, I would’ve found it much more amusing and surprising than I am finding it, as Milky Holmes basically turned its original genre on its head already, and did so in a much funnier fashion.

Honestly, I’m pretty lukewarm about KoraZom. It was mildly amusing, but not massively so. The only thing that truly sets it apart is the male magical girl transformation, which goes beyond Takuto’s Galactic Pretty Boy thing from Star Driver. Its awesome. Especially the weird, kind of sexual noises he makes during the scene. I am all for that kind of thing! I can almost understand why all those lolicon-freaks love watching Nanoha transform. Almost. The only thing that could make the whole thing better is if there was some mad hipshaking going on.

So… yeah. If you’re bored, KoreZom is probably not a bad way to pass your time. If you have space in your schedule, same thing. The drop-off from the first to the second episode was fairly large, so… yeah. Don’t expect the fun of the first episode to be as present in the second.

Uh… fuck it. I’m gonna go drink some wine now.

    I think it’s based on a light novel :p

I thought it was hilarious, but yeah, the second episode wasn’t nearly as funny. But my standards are pretty low, and the week gets really boring with most of the good stuff airing on Thursday, so I’ll probably keep on watching it~

As I typed it, I figured there was a good chance it wasn’t actually from an eroge. But I was too lazy to check. I just wanted to finish and go drink some fucking wine. And do my nails. Priorities. I has them.

Almost succeeded until the next paragraph. I thought the first episode was solid. I’m going to try and wait till the show ends before I watch anymore of it. I think I’m starting to discover that I enjoy a lot of sub-par anime.
